There is a popular misconception
about Shesta that he is the most abused of all the Slayers, but when the cards
are down it's not too difficult to see that Gatty takes far more punishment,
and that Shesta does infact get away with it more often than not. As far as
Dilandau's concerned, the only time we see him hit Shesta is in Episode 3,
The Gallant Swordsman, when both Shesta and Dalet get slapped for allowing
their guymelefs to be damaged in the attack on Fanalia. And what about Allen?
He's always going for Shesta...isn't he? Again, no, just a rumor, a misunderstanding.
Evidence?
Sure:-
Episode 5 (I think)- Location:- The Vione
Shesta's first battle encounter with Allen is one he initiated himself. Whilst
Allen is eyeing up Escaflowne during his attempt to rescue Van, Shesta spots
him. Shesta was supposed to be looking for Dilandau because acting without
his orders would be unthinkable, but when Shesta spots Allen, he draws his
sword and rushes at him shouting "scoundrel"
Awwww, innie cute ^_^
Oh please!
Moreover, when Allen defty disarms Shesta, he lets him get away with nothing
more than a bad headache from simply knocking him out. Allen won his fight
with Shesta and yet he let him live.
Ummm...but couldn't that been because Allen wanted to use him to find Van
Erm....well yes. But why didn't he do that with any of the other soldiers
on the Vione - who, for the record, we saw Allen cut down without a second
thought?
He knew they wouldn't know? Maybe he recognized the different uniform and
thought Shesta might be more likely to know where he was.
Maybe. But even then, once Shesta lead him to Van. Why didn't he kill him?
He got away with it. See! *arches an eyebrow ~ smugness*
Hmph! Perhaps... Well what about Dilandau, Dilandau wouldn't let anyone get
away with anything!
Wrong again Scully! Think,
Episode (?) Location: The Vione
Dilandau is out for revenge against van for scaring his face..
Meanie!
Yes ... Well ... anyway ... When he see's him out in the open, talking with
Folken on the bridge he can't believe his luck, and is quick to snatch the
opportunity. But as soon as Shesta realizes what he's up to, he chases after
him, trying to stop him, trying to warn him that Folken had ordered Dilandau
not to leave the Vione. In other episodes of The Vision of Escaflowne, Dragon
Slayer's who offered advise or put forward opinions...
*Cough...Gatty...cough*
*glares* The other DragonSlayer's who offered advise or put forward opinions
have been punished for their audacity, but, surprise surprise, not Shesta.
Well Dilandau was busy concentrating on Van then, he had no time for Shesta.
True, but after Dilandau failed to kill Van, and his guymelef crumbles to
the floor, Shesta further pushes his luck, inquiring as to Dilandau's well
being another thing other 'slayers have received slaps for in the past
*Cough-Gatty-cough*
Yes, OK, we get the message. But the point is, once again, he gets away with
noting more that an icy glare!
