The real information about Dalet is so few and far between that their are rather more opinions about him than than facts.
  One thing that seems to be often disputed is why is he so quiet? Well first may I say... Is he really quiet?? Most of the scenes he's in he say's something, it's just that he isn't in many scenes. I'm not saying he isn't quiet or anything, just suggesting another alternative.

The opinions on the web about Dalets' personality range from unsure and shy to proud and vain, from responsible and cautious to foolhardy and rash, and from friendly and understanding to cold-hearted and well, just plain mean! So really where do we start on who the real Dalet is? Well I'll tell you something, it sure got me! Is it possible that he could infact be all of the above?!?
Well yeah actually he probably could...
In trying to find the answer I'm going to start a fanfic about how Dalet came to join the DragonSlayers. I'm hoping that writing about it will help me to figure it out, but it may be a while before I actually get around to it.

It really bugs me when I see Dalet portrayed as hateful and cruel in fanfics, it shouldn't do, 'cause I've done it myself , but recently I find it really does. These days I find myself rewatching Esca quiet a lot, and when you look at Dalet in the series, he really doesn't look mean at all. In fact, does anyone else think he looks kind of sad? Like he doesn't really want to be their but he's determined to stay out of some sense of loyalty or duty or something? Perhaps I've just been watching it too much O_o
I don't really think Dalet is cold hearted, though I could imagine him as being standoffish . He looks like the type of guy who spends a lot of time thinking things through, but not necessarily sharing his thoughts, so I guess he maybe has a lot off bottled up emotions. People tend to take this the wrong way, thinking he doesn't care, but perhaps the truth is he cares a little too much. It seems to be more the scans that show Dalet as being a show off, but even they don't show him as mean. Particularly that one where he's holding a rose in his mouth, he looks so vain! *giggles* hey does anyone else think he's giving Shesta the eye in that pic ??
