Dalet's role in "A Girl in Gaia"

Well if you thought Dalet's time in The Vision of Escaflowne TV series was short, you probably wont be that surprised to find out it was next to none existent in the movie. He doesn't even get any lines (or at least not that I noticed! *sniff* Oh well at least he's in it somewhere - no matter how briefly. I won't spoil the movie for you if you haven't seen it, but if you want to know what happens to Dalet and the 'Slayers in the end, then read on. But Don't do it if you haven't seen the movie! OK, you have been warned!

Well actually, it's not *that* much of a spoiler, since it's left a little bit to the imagination, but we don't *see* Dalet die - that said we don't see him alive in the last few shots of the slayers either.
The only 'slayer we see die for certain is Miguel - well gee, now there's a big surprise! At the end of the movie Dilandau and three other slayers ( Gatty, Shesta, and the new guy whose name I can't seem to remember right now) ride off into the distance -

Dilandau :- " Where should we go this time ..? Well ... wars are fought everywhere. Let's get going!"

I suppose Dalet-kun should be dead going on that, 'cause you'd expect him to be riding away with his fellow 'slayers - but well since there's no real proof either way I'd like to think he's picking himself up from some battlefield somewhere and cursing his mount for throwing him ^^ Hmmm, I sense a fanfiction idea sprouting away in my mind ^_~
