It's just assumption, but I think Gatty is perhaps the DragonSlayers second
in command. He seems to push his luck with Dilandau just a little bit more
than the other 'Slayers, occasionally speaking out of turn, or giving Dilandau
the odd glare. It seems Gatty has the greater portion of responsibilities
too, as it is he who delivers reports and messges to Dilandau-sama, and
when Dilandau decides to abandon his battle with Allen in Episode four it's
Gatty he trusts to finish off the job (...even if Allen did wipe the floor
with him).
Another thing I've
noticed about Gatty is he sure can stand his ground a bit better than the
other slayers; when Dilandau slaps Shesta and Dalet in Ep. 3 he send's 'em
sprawling to the ground, but several times Gatty gets punched by Dilandau
but he still keeps his footing. Not really important, but what the heck,
it's an observation ^_^
